• Behind the scenes: Handmade jewelry for Sinterklaas

The lead-up to Sinterklaas is quite possibly my favorite time of the year.

The studio smells like warm tea, my workbench is covered in tiny sparkling shapes, and soft music plays in the background. This is where the handmade earrings and earcuffs are created — beautifully packaged, they’ll soon end up in shoes and surprise gifts.

But what exactly goes on behind the scenes?

    Let me take you along.

    FROM IDEA TO MINI-ARTWORK

Every design starts small: a sketch, a shape or an unexpected find.
In the weeks leading up to Sinterklaas, the focus is on jewelry that is perfect to give as a gift: subtle, timeless and meaningful.

    What I pay attention to:

    ✓ Minimalist shapes
    ✓ Comfortable to wear
✓ Timeless  — also after December

  • MADE BY HAND

    All jewelry is handcrafted.
No mass production — quite the opposite.
Every curve is polished, every joint soldered with care.

    Step by step:

    ✓ Shaping
    ✓ Soldering & filing
    ✓ Polishing

    ✓ Quality check

That means: every piece of jewelry is just a little bit different.
And that’s what makes it personal.

  • SILVER OR 14K GOLD

For the Sinterklaas period, I work as always with
925 Silver and 14k Gold — materials that stay beautiful for a long time and can be worn with any outfit.

    Why these materials?

    ✓ Durable
    ✓ Timeless
    ✓ Hypoallergenic

Perfect for anyone who wants to give something truly valuable.

  • FAVORITES FOR INSIDE THE SHOE

A handcrafted piece of jewelry feels different.

Not made in a factory, but created in the workshop — shaped, soldered, filed, and polished with care.

This craftsmanship makes each piece just a little more unique.

And that’s exactly what makes it so special to give.

    ✓ Handcrafted craftsmanship
    ✓ Sustainable materials
    ✓ Timeless design

    PACKAGED WITH CARE

A gift is more than just its contents.

That's why all jewelry is lovingly gift-wrapped — ready to give straight away.

    ✓ Minimalist gift boxes
    ✓ Warm winter tones
    ✓ Small personal touch

Sometimes I even add a tiny extra surprise.

A surprise is always fun — even for the giver!

THE STUDIO DURING SINTERKLAAS

The weeks leading up to December 5 are a mix of focus, tiny happy moments, occasional stress, and above all cozy chaos.
I often pull long days, but I love every step of the way: From your orders, sweet messages, and photos of recipients unboxing their purchases.

The best part?
Every piece of jewelry will end up with someone who truly gets joy from it.

SINTERKLAAS, THE TIME TO GIVE SOMETHING LASTING

Mass-produced goods are nice.

But handmade is different — more personal, warmer, more meaningful.
It’s a small piece of craftsmanship that you pass on.
